ECHOCHO: FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR SOCIETY FROM ILLICIT DRUGS AND THE FUTURE OF THE YOUTHS, NDLEA AREA COMMAND IS FACILITATED TO ANYIGBA

The world is grappling with the challenges of drug abuse and drug trafficking and the ugly development is not excluding Kogi East from it’s share of the problems as the proliferation of illicit drugs and their abuses have become rampant and very worrisome.
It was in view of these problems that Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho approached the National Headquarters of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to establish an Area Command in Anyigba so that their activities can be brought home and help in curbing the menace of drug abuse, trafficking of illicit drugs and then by implications, helping to save lives of the targeted consumers. The presence of NDLEA no doubt will go a very long way sanitize the area.
With this establishment comes some initial responsibilities which become the concern of the Senator who facilitated it – securing and furnishing of their office for take off and other basics until the next budget circle captures and figures in the new NDLEA Area Command in Anyigba. These responsibilities for Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho are worth it as the objectives of having an NDLEA presence in the area is a worthy venture considering the benefits more so that it’s about saving lives and securing the future of the youths in particular.
Aside the primary objective of the NDLEA, their presence in the area equally has economic impact which is good for the development of the area and the people as well. Also, for the tertiary institutions in the area it will be easier for them to collaborate with the agency in many areas for the good of all.
As NDLEA takes off fully in their operations from the new Area Command, the expectations of the people from them to perform well are very high.
