It was a joyous moment as the member representing Idah Federal constituency and Chairman House Committee on Safety Standards and Regulations, Hon. David Idris Zacharias donated a total sum of N14.8 million to Widows in his constituency.
The lawmaker made the donation during his annual meetings with the widows. This year’s meeting took a new turn as the he further pledged to support them with more incentives during the coming empowerment schemes.
Zacharias while addressing the widows acknowledged the level of hardship in the land as a result of the economic crisis plagued on the country. According to him, “what we give to you now is to help meet your immediate needs while we are working on a long-term solution to this quagmire.”
” Be of good courage for the to smile is not far from us again. We are working out modalities to ensure adequate distribution of government palliatives as the need arises. We have not forgotten our campaign promises as other politicians do but rather we are in this together and by the grace of God almighty, we shall prevail and come out strong.”
He concluded by saying “God honours and doesn’t joke with widows and He is the father of them all.”
