Engr. Friday Ojima Michael, MON was challenged by an ugly medical experience he had years back in his village. As a concerned and very caring young man, he was inspired to launch a solution instead of settling down to blaming authorities et al. He started contributing to the health sector by establishing the Good Shepherd Medical Center in Anyigba.
So, the establishment of Good Shepherd Medical Centre in 2013 through Michael Friday Foundation was a direct response to the medical challenges in our dear land. The hospital boasts of world class medical equipment and well qualified medical team on ground 24/7.
As at the last visit of the ARISE IGALA Team to the Good Shepherd Medical Center, Anyigba, the centre has recorded successful brain surgery; over 4,200 children born in the hospital with free antenatal from conception till delivery. Over 5,000 elderly people have benefited from the Special Care Programs for 65 above aside other medical outreaches. The figures given here would have increased since then given the fact that they have been consistent.
Till date, the culture of supporting the elderly and pregnant women haven’t stopped. The harsh economy didn’t even deter them from the original goal of Engr. Friday Ojima Michael, MON. Against all odds, every first Monday of the month, they attend to the elderly at the hospital from medical checks, tests and even to treatments at all levels.
Good Shepherd Medical Center Anyigba has become a reference point in medical support in the entire Igala land and Kogi State at large. The vision of Friday Michael Foundation lives on.
