ZACHARIAS PRAGMATIC LEADERSHIP EQUALS PAVING THE WAY
The Idah Federal Constituency as it is to
day is the size of some States and twice of others in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Aside it’s geographical size, it’s settlement is such that every nook and cranny of the constituency has major towns and so are their needs for basic infrastructures. Therefore, for anyone who represents such a federal constituency as Idah, to perform well calls for extra efforts.
The reality painted above has been very fundamental to the success and failure of past legislators from the area. On the other hand, the people of the Idah Federal Constituency for a long time (according to feedbacks) hardly feel positive impact of their representatives at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
This ugly reality has been embraced by many until the coming onboard of Rt. Hon. David Idris Zacharias. The approach of the Honourable Member is one of a leader who is intentionally building a legacy that will outlived him. He is clearing the paths for others to have smooth ride into the future.
The Zacharias educational support programme that ensures 50 students got 3 years scholarship each at the College of Education, Ankpa is a door opener to many. For some of the students, the support has broken down barriers. They have been given opportunity to fulfil their dreams and from there build their future. Not only the scholarship programme, the various educational supports by the Honourable are laying very strong foundations for progress and development for the beneficiaries. And, by extension, the land as it will bring about growth with time.
Last month, during the yuletide, the Rt. Hon. Zacharias visit to the burnt Idah Rice Mill restores hope to the victims. He promised to intervene and instantly he fulfilled his promise to them, financially. It gives the people that sense of belonging that they have a very responsible representative who cares for them.
Also, the ongoing construction of 20 modern motorized boreholes spread across the Idah Federal Constituency is a testament to Zacharias commitment to the welfare of the people. For other development projects going on and those coming up in various segments are hope giving to the people. The leadership style of Zacharias connects to the reality at the grassroots and in return, it endears him to the people.
Rt. Hon. David Idris Zacharias who is currently the Chairman of the House Committee on Safety and Standard Regulations is changing the legislative narrative in the Idah Federal Constituency as he is constantly raising the bar.
