It is in this perilous times that true characters are made manifest. Some act dishonourably in manners that bring their personalities, families, communities and organizations to serious disrepute. They careless of what the outcome of their acts may be so long as they achieve their (selfish) aim. In times such as this, it takes courage to stand out from the crowd. The courage to stand out can only be fueled by determination to be disciplined and stay focused. High level of dedication to one’s professional rules and ethics are essential to be an outstanding personality in this kind of time. To sum it up, good character will drive all these factors towards having a distinguished fellow in any field.
It’s in view of the good character needed at this hour that the ARISE IGALA Team are proudly celebrating an outstanding officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Francis Ameh Igonoh who was honored with the prestigious 2024 International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) Outstanding Operational Success Award. His achievement prompted the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) to approve a special promotion for him
The NDLEA as a special agency with the heavy tasks to keep our society clean of drugs is proud of its workforce. They do not take for granted the efforts and sacrifices of their men and officers. The agency is always on the lookout for the best for their men and officers at all times. Therefore, encouraging any distinguished officer will inspire others to always work for the interest of the agency and the nation at large. So, as a result of Francis dedication, commitment to work and professionalism, all attributes that have won him global recognition, the NDLEA Boss approved his promotion to the rank of Assistant Commander of Narcotics since he was already due for elevation to his next rank as Chief Superintendent of Narcotics. This act is to further encourage Framcis and his peers.
The award certificate which was signed by Harward Lampley, Director, West Africa Regional Training Center, commended the NDLEA officer, Francis Ameh Igonoh. He said the recognition was well deserved. On the certificate, the following words were written; “your commitment to utilizing the skills and techniques acquired from the ILEA training has contributed to combating drug trafficking in the region. This feat is a testament of your dedication, hard work, and excellence in efforts to counter Transnational Organized Crime. The West Africa Regional Training Center (RTC) and the ILEA Program appreciate your significant contributions in promoting regional and global security”,
The development and achievement is worthy of celebrating and so, the ARISE IGALA Team consider Francis Ameh Igonoh as a role model for today’s generation. As the team celebrate him, it’s also a call for him to keep the flag flying as many are looking up to him as a good model.
