ECHOCHO, APRIL 1ST AND THE N20 MILLION GRANT:
CHANGING THE MEANING OF APRIL 1ST FOR THE 20 BENEFICIARIES

By ONOJA J. OKPANACHI

The choice of April 1st 2024 to release the sum of N1million each to the 20 beneficiaries of the Echocho Kogi East Graduate Entrepreneurship Scheme is intentional to change the common meaning of that date in the lives of the carefully selected ones and to also make it very memorable one so to keep them on their toes to ensure judicious use of the grant coming from someone who truly wants them to be self-reliant.

As promised by The ARISE IGALA Team and other media houses during the briefing about this noble venture, we have been following every step and will be covering the implementation of the first phase which is billed for Monday, April 1, 2024. The selection was carefully done with each local governments in Kogi East having two beneficiaries save Ankpa and Dekina with three.

Speaking with the brain behind the scheme, Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, he expressed why he so much desire to get this underway immediately, “this grant will mark a very positive turn around for the beneficiaries. They have good business ideas and some already executing but need the fund to get them up and running and so, the N1million each to the 20 beneficiaries will go a long way. Also, I am not going to fold my hands after the money is released, I will monitor their growth, guide and help them facilitate more funding when they get to the point they will be needing more. These 20 will inspire others to be focused and their success will mean creation of jobs for many directly and indirectly and this will surely lead to good development. Remember, this is the first phase and I will soon increase it to fifty and then to hundred and so on. I want to see more entrepreneurs from Kogi East because this is the most ideal way to go economically if we must experience that dream of robust economic impact on our people and land”.

Names and businesses of the beneficiaries including their local governments will be published to show the level of transparency and even distribution of the grant. The ARISE IGALA Team will keep you posted on the event and all details you need to know.
